Based on a true story, we visit a Mexican border town plagued by neglect, corruption, and violence. A frustrated teacher tries a radical new method to break through his students' apathy and unlock their curiosity, their potential... and maybe even their genius. This is a rarity and a crowd-pleaser about an unorthodox 6th-grade school teacher and his students that actually earns its stand-up-and-cheer status. Like teaching, if it reaches just one struggling student or one burned-out teacher, the film argues, it could well change the world.
