The Onancock Business and Civic Association (OBCA) extends a sincere thank you to the Onancock Sails Forward Committee for the June 11-14 event hosting the Pungy schooner Lady Maryland. Your dedication and focus were deeply appreciated by all.
We are incredibly grateful to the volunteers who spent months planning and executing such an amazing weekend for our residents and visitors, specifically committee co-chairs Lisa Fiege and Debbie Caton, and to our generous sponsors. Special thanks go to the Town of Onancock partners on this event: Historic Onancock School for hosting several concerts and the amazing fireworks display, the Eastern Shore Tourism Commission, Shore History, and Samuel D. Outlaw Blacksmith Shop. Onancock Main Street played a critical role in helping our downtown businesses beautify their storefronts and also provided extensive support in advertising.
We also want to recognize our Department of Public Works (DPW) team, police force and Chief Eric Williams, who worked tirelessly for months leading up to and throughout the entire event. We truly could not have done it without you. Thank you as well to the Town Council for the Sunset Park benches and your continued support. Additionally, we would like to give a big shout-out to the OBCA volunteers who helped clean up the town and the Onancock Wharf, and the Waterfront Committee for their excellent work decorating and assisting our guests.
It genuinely took a village, with restaurants and local businesses all getting meaningfully involved. The weekend demonstrated exactly what our small town can achieve and our visitors noticed the wonderful energy.
Thank you all for making this event such a stunning success.
Best regards,
Bill Burnham, President, OBCA
